Itinerary
Learn some fun facts about American history at sites along the trail.
Interact with sea life at one of the largest touch tanks on the East Coast.
Discover what lead to the infamous Boston Tea Party and what happened as a result.
Go on board "Old Ironsides" and learn what role this ship played in history.
Explore the first botanical garden in the US and maybe take a Swan Boat ride (seasonal).
Remembered for his late night ride to warn about the British, Paul Revere's home is one of the points of interest along the Freedom Trail.
Learn about the town of Salem and the history behind the infamous witch trials all the way through the Revolutionary War and more.
While Salem is known for the witch trials, they also have a pirate museum with real artifacts and treasures from shipwrecks, so let's take a voyage through pirate history.
See the house that was the inspiration for Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel of the same name.
Visit the Vanderbilt family's famous summer "cottage".
Get views of both the rocky ocean cliffs and Newport mansions along the famous Cliff Walk.
Visit this interactive museum all about sailing.
See the setting for Little Women and the home where it was written.
Step onto the battlefield where the opening battle of the Revolution took place.
See what life was like in the 17th century and a full scale reproduction of the Mayflower ship.
Yep, it's just a rock with the year inscribed on it, but it does mark the historical spot where the pilgrims landed.
In your free time, there is plenty more to see and do if you so desire. Just ask for suggestions and directions, and we will be more than happy to point you toward many of the other great sites New England has to offer.
Tour Info
Why take this tour?
Educational - Because this is a homeschool trip, our focus is on learning, whether about history, science, or culture. We have carefully chosen sites and activities that support this focus, and will provide any supplemental materials that may be appropriate.
Family-friendly itinerary – Our itinerary is thoughtfully designed to be engaging for all ages, so no need to worry about how to keep guests of multiple ages engaged. Younger guests will be too busy and having too much fun to have time to drive each other crazy – and that’s a win-win for everyone!
Balance of free time and group time – We want you to go home refreshed and relaxed, so with a few hours of free time built into most day’s schedule, your family will have plenty of time to explore on your own, shop, eat, or just take a nap without missing anything!
Small group sizes – While we can accommodate larger groups, we prefer to keep our group sizes to 16 or under. The average group size is 12 guests. These smaller groups allow us flexibility and the ability to see and do things bigger groups can’t. If you have a larger group, give us a call so we can discuss how we can work together!
Lower pricing – Designed to be more affordable for those who just want itinerary and tour guide services, we offer one flat price that includes your tour director services, unit study materials, and entrance/activity fees.
